Data Protection and Operational Risk Coordinator

This new role requires someone to ensure that the firm has effective systems, policies and procedures in place to maintain compliance in line with all non-AML/CFT requirements globally. 

It has 4 main strands:

  • To act as the Data Protection Coordinator, ensuring that all aspects of data protection are compliant with the local regulatory requirements
  • To manage aspects of our wider operational risks which may be identified from time to time
  • To maintain the risk management framework to ensure it remains relevant and effective
  • To assist with all initiatives designed to increase awareness, knowledge and understanding of risk across the firm

Main responsibilities

  • Manage the Data Governance arrangements including working with local Data Champions
  • Maintain the firm's data inventory and list of data processors
  • Manage Data Breach, Data Subject Access Request and other data related processes
  • Liaise with ICT to ensure that  we are effectively managing technical risks and have appropriate safeguards in place to manage any vulnerabilities  
  • Arrange and where appropriate deliver training to staff, including as part of the on-boarding process
  • Maintain and develop appropriate controls and measures around data management
  • Undertake reviews of critical operational processes, making recommendations where appropriate
  • Manage the Key Risk Indicator collection and reporting process
  • Undertake a variety of projects in order to optimise the efficiency and effectiveness of the firm
  • Deliver an effective training schedule to continue to educate the firm

Qualifications

  • Ideally educated to A-level or equivalent standard
  • ICA or other relevant compliance qualification desirable

Knowledge/skills/experience

  • A good knowledge and  understanding of local regulatory requirements
  • At least 5 years' industry experience.
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Good technical knowledge relating to data protection legislation
  • Familiarity with IT governance frameworks
  • Strong IT skills
