With over 30 years' experience in private practice, Andrew has a well-deserved reputation as one of the world's leading offshore private client practitioners.
He is lauded by independent legal directories for the depth and breadth of his knowledge, and has been one of the leading lights of STEP in the Cayman Islands for many years.
Andrew advises a truly global client base of HNW and UHNW families and trustees about all aspects of Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands international wealth structuring.
In his role as a trusted advisor to families, he is now advising the second and third generations of clients, with a particular focus on UHNW families in the US, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East.
Andrew was a partner and head of private client for an onshore firm in London before moving to the Cayman Islands and qualifying as a Cayman Islands Attorney in 2003 – he was then a partner and Global Head of Wealth Structuring for another major offshore law firm before joining Bedell Cristin in 2019.
He is recognized by both Chambers High Net Worth and Legal 500, and has received a STEP Founder's Award.
Andrew is past chairman of STEP Cayman; the co-chairman of the STEP Cayman Legislative Committee; a founding board member of the STEP LatAm Conference and the STEP Cayman International Wealth Structuring Forum; a member of the International Tax Planning Association and The International Academy of Estate and Trust Law; an overseas member of the Chancery Bar Association and a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
He is the editor of the STEP Directory Cayman Section and contributes the Cayman Section of International Trust Precedents, the BVI Section of International Succession Law, the BVI and Cayman Sections of Globe Law and Business Private Trust Companies and the BVI Section of Globe Law and Business Power of Attorney Legislation.
