Jonathan Stroud

Jonathan is a Managing Associate in Bedell Cristin's litigation, restructuring and insolvency team in the Cayman Islands. 

He is an experienced commercial litigator with a strong focus on the Cayman Islands insolvency and restructuring market, working with insolvency practitioners and onshore counsel in the US, Latin America and the UK.

Jonathan is regularly instructed to advise on corporate insolvency and restructuring matters, including cross-border liquidations, creditor disputes, and complex restructurings.

His practice also covers shareholder and partnership disputes, investment fund disputes, and complex contractual disputes typically involving cross-border issues.

He has been admitted since 2015 and practised onshore for six years before moving to the Cayman Islands in 2022.

In addition to his Cayman Islands expertise, Jonathan has broad experience in litigation across the England and Wales jurisdiction and has handled international arbitration under the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

Jonathan also has experience in various forms of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation. In 2024, he completed the INSOL International Foundation Certificate in International Insolvency Law, further strengthening his expertise in global insolvency matters.
