The Channel Islands Securities Exchange Limited (CISE) to rebrand on 6 March 2017 as The International Stock Exchange
02 March 2017
Following an EGM held by the CISE on 23 February 2017, the CISE will change its name to The International Stock Exchange Group Limited (TISE) on 6 March 2017 and on 9 March 2017 will launch a presence in the Isle of Man.
Its subsidiary, The Channel Island Securities Exchange Authority Limited (the Exchange), will trade as The International Stock Exchange Authority until such times as the States of Guernsey has approved a change to the relevant legislation. It is anticipated that this will be considered for approval on 26 April 2017. Until such time the Exchange will still formally be called The Channel Island Securities Exchange Authority Limited. The CISE have confirmed that there will be NO immediate change to the Listing Rules or the application and continuing obligations procedures. The Listing Rules will be adapted in due course to reflect the name change. As there will be no change to the legal entities the Exchange will accept application documents referring to the previous name for a period of time thereafter.
As part of the rebrand to TISE, the Exchange will be introducing particular market segments of the Exchange. Issuers who meet the additional relevant criteria can elect to feature on a segment. The initial segments to be introduced are trading companies from the Channel Islands and trading companies from the Isle of Man. It is believed this will provide such issuers with greater visibility to investors.
As the business of the CISE has been developing over the last few years with an increased and more diversified flow of listings, the CISE's long term strategy is based on continuing to expand its international footprint.
