Nancy Chien and Edward Drummond elected as co-Global Managing Partners of Bedell Cristin from 2026

12 November 2025

International law firm Bedell Cristin will be led by co-global managing partners Nancy Chien and Edward Drummond from 1 January 2026.

The firm's current Global Managing Partner, Tim Pearce, has decided to return to full-time private practice with the firm after two successful terms of office that have included spearheading Bedell's expansion into the Cayman Islands and a global rebrand, and leading the firm through the Global Pandemic.

Last week, the firm's Equity Partnership elected Nancy and Edward to serve as co-global managing partners from the start of next year.

Nancy leads Bedell Cristin's top-tier International Private Client practice – she has over 23 years' legal experience and is qualified in four jurisdictions. She helps UHNW families with their international structuring with a particular focus on the Asian and Middle Eastern markets, and is the only Jersey Advocate who speaks Mandarin. Nancy is individually ranked in the very highest tier by both Legal 500 and Chambers High Net Worth for the quality of her advice.

Edward joined Bedell's top-tier Jersey Litigation team in 2008, having practised with Norton Rose Fulbright in London for almost seven years and with another offshore law firm in the Cayman Islands. Edward is a Jersey litigator, specialising in trusts disputes, commercial litigation and contentious regulatory matters. Like Nancy, he is individually ranked in the very highest tier by both Legal 500 and Chambers UK.

Tim Pearce said: "I'm grateful for the support that I have had during my tenure as Global Managing Partner, and equally grateful to Nancy and Ed for putting themselves forwards for the role – it's a big job, there's a fantastic platform and group of professionals at Bedell Cristin, and Nancy and Ed bring an enormous depth of experience and insight to the role."

Nancy said: "All of the partners are thankful to Tim for the leadership and drive that he has demonstrated over two very successful terms as global managing partner, and we look forward to continuing to build on the excellent work that has been done."

Edward said: "It’s an exciting time at Bedell Cristin – the firm is in great shape with a strong partnership and excellent associate bench across our six locations, and Nancy and I are grateful for the opportunity to lead the business over the coming years."
