Richard Le Liard

Richard advises on investment funds, investment structures and financial services regulatory matters under Jersey law.

He has been admitted in Jersey since 2008, and has advised on the full range of Jersey investment structures from expert funds established by global financial institutions, to private fund structures for club deals and start-up managers.

Richard is ranked as a "Leading Partner" by Legal 500 for his advice on Jersey funds, and is also recognised by Chambers & Partners.

He advises fund and asset manager clients in London, Switzerland, South Africa and Jersey on the establishment, launch, operations and termination of Jersey investment structures, and acts borrower-side on fund financing matters.

He also advises clients – mainly in Jersey's financial services industry – on all areas of financial services regulation, international tax compliance (including economic substance) and the island's AML / CFT regime.

Richard also sits on local industry groups, including an industry panel looking at reforms of the Island's Limited Partnership Law.

Richard joined Bedell Cristin in 2007, having previously practised with another offshore law firm in Jersey.
