Senior BVI litigation partner Jeremy Child joins Bedell Cristin

21 May 2026

Leading BVI litigator Jeremy Child has joined Bedell Cristin as a partner based in the firm's London office.

Jeremy has spent almost 15 years as a BVI litigator, and has acted on some of the jurisdiction's biggest cases ranging from commercial litigation to insolvencies and trusts disputes.

He will work with partners Alasdair Davidson and Robert Christie to continue to grow the firm's BVI disputes practice, and with the team in its BVI office including counsel Gabriel Adedeji and associate Chassidy Leonard.

Jeremy practised at the London Bar for more than eight years before moving offshore, and spent almost 15 years as a partner at one of the BVI's biggest law firms before joining Bedell Cristin.

Alasdair, who leads the firm's BVI disputes team, said: "We are delighted to welcome a partner of Jeremy's skill and reputation to the business – he has a track record of representing international clients in some of the biggest and most complex cases before the jurisdiction's courts.

"There is continuing demand for advice on BVI disputes in international markets, most notably the Middle East and Asia, often flowing through London where Jeremy will be located adding to our successful litigation practice based in the City."

Jeremy has been recognised by Legal 500 for the quality of his work, and has appeared in many significant and ground-breaking matters before the BVI courts concerning issues of fundamental importance to the jurisdiction such as the scope of directors' duties, the requirements to become a shareholder, and the ability of litigants to enforce foreign judgments. Jeremy has regularly appeared at all levels of the BVI's judicial system.

He practised as a Barrister at Enterprise Chambers before moving offshore and is a member of the Chancery Bar Association and RISA.

His arrival is part of a sustained period of growth for Bedell Cristin, where Alexander Hawkins has recently been recruited as the new head of the firm's International Private Client practice in Guernsey and Advocate Samantha Hoare has joined the top-tier Jersey Litigation practice as a Counsel.
